Wilton ‘Winky’ Taylor

Wilton “Winkey” Taylor, age 71, of Nicholls, GA passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Taylor was born on January 12, 1946, in Douglas, GA to the late William Tift Taylor and Mattie Music Taylor.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Frances Taylor of Nicholls, GA; two sons, Bobby Taylor of Douglas, GA and Sherman Taylor of Nicholls, GA; two daughters, Debra McClendon of West Green, GA and Theresa Salyer of Ft. Ogden, FL; three step daughters, Judy Moody of Douglas, GA, Annette Nipper of Wilsonville, GA, and Fran Adams of Wilsonville, GA; brother, Jackie Smith of Denton, GA; sister, Jewel Bradley of Douglas, GA; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Mae Miller Taylor; brother, Thurman “Jug” Taylor; two sisters, Caroline Holder and Willa Deen Carver; and several special Cothern brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Eason, Rev. Matthew McEachern, and Rev. Edison Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Broxton City Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
