John ‘Buddy’ Wooten

John D. “Buddy” Wooten, age 64, of Chester, GA passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Wooten was born on August 10, 1952, in Douglas, GA to the late J.D. Wooten and Wendell Louise Spires Wooten.

Survivors include: his wife, Janie Wooten of Chester, GA; three daughters, Greta Wooten of Glenwood, GA, Melissa Rees of Leslie, GA, and Melanie Wooten of Chester, GA; two sons, John Wooten of Jacksonville, GA and Buddy Wooten of Eastman, GA; two sisters, Louise Easom of Fitzgerald, GA and Dorothy Dale Saylor of Macon, GA; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Pridgen Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Hart officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
