Wendell Lucille Wooten, age 83, of Chester, GA passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Wooten was born on September 24, 1933, in Savannah, GA to the late Henry Steven Spires and Lonis Louise Burnseed Spires.
Survivors include: her two daughters, Louise Easom of Fitzgerald, GA and Dorothy Dale Sayler of Macon, GA; daughter-in-law, Janie Wooten of Chester, GA; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Wooten; and a son, John D. “Buddy” Wooten.
Graveside services were held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Grimes officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
