Valeria Plymale, age 93, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Plymale was born on August 3, 1923, in Hoboken, Ga. to the late Wiley Lazarus Dowling and Mary Cordia Thomas Dowling.
Survivors include: her daughters, Nina (AL) Davis of Cordele, Ga., Jane (Tony) McPherson of Tifton, Ga., and Sarah (Darren) Shrouder of Douglas, Ga.; sons, Earl (Paulette) Plymale of Nashville, Ga., Marcus Plymale of Douglas, Ga., and Steve (Diane) Plymale of Laurinburg, NC; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Dowling (Bill) Jones of Macon, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Dowling of Hazlehurst, Ga. and Cora Dowling of Hoboken, Ga.; special care givers, Angela Taylor, Betty Smith, Bobbie Jean Smith, and Petrina Porter; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lauren Day and R.C. Plymale; brothers, Fred Dowling, Edwin Dowling, Vernon Dowling, and Perry Dowling; and sisters, Delores Drury and Betty Jones.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 16, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m at First Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery.
