Deputies arrest two on forgery charges

Two people were jailed by Coffee County deputies on forgery charges Tuesday after passing counterfeit $100 bills at a local convenience store.

Deputies responded to Jet Foods, 9231 Ga. Hwy. 32 W., just prior to 2 p.m., June 27, in reference to counterfeit money. The complainant stated that two individuals, identified as 22-year-old William Scarborough and 36-year-old Tomie Karol Inman, both of Douglas, had passed the bills while making purchases the previous Friday. The complainant further advised Inman had presented the first bill for a purchase and was followed several minutes later by Scarborough. Images of the two offenders were caught on store surveillance cameras.

Deputies located Scarborough and Inman at separate residences Tuesday afternoon. Both offenders were arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
