Tiana Foster, a native of Atlanta and a Valdosta State University graduate, has joined the DouglasNow.com staff. She is a tremendous journalism talent and possesses a passion for digital marketing, social media, and writing. Tiana has spent the last four years under the watchful eye of Dr. Pat Miller, who also taught DouglasNow.com’s Robert Preston Jr. many years ago. DouglasNow.com is excited to have Tiana on staff and we look forward to the perspective and skillset she brings to our publication. Below is a little about Tiana in her own words:

My name is Tiana Foster, 22 of Atlanta, GA. I come from a small family of 5, being the only girl.

I graduated high school in 2013 and continued my education at Valdosta State University. I graduated from VSU in May of 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in English and a minor in Advertising and Promotions.

My passion for writing started while in high school. I’ve always taken an interest in literature and was placed in my high school’s AP Literature program for two consecutive years. It wasn’t until college when I could finally start publishing my work. My sophomore year of college I had begun writing for the school’s magazine, On Tap. After learning a little more about my writing style I joined the staff of the school’s newspaper, The Spectator. I’ve written several articles for the school’s newspaper covering topics such as news, entertainment, opinion, features and more.

Shortly after graduating college I was offered an intern position at DouglasNow.com and couldn’t be any more thankful for the opportunity to work alongside Mr. Robert Preston Jr. My time thus far has been a fun learning experience. My personal goal is to gain new skills and the knowledge to help me become a better writer and reporter. Maybe one day you’ll get to see me on the big screen.

I’m looking forward to this career path and hope to build new relationships and continue the work of the community and people of Douglas, Ga.
