Mr. Larry James Smith, age 68, of Pearson, GA passed away early Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017, at Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born October 1, 1948 to the late Paul Smith and the late Eva Louise Lott Smith. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Cook.

Mr. Smith was a United States Marine Veteran having served during the Vietnam era. Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Smith was a brick mason. He attended Cornerstone Church in Pearson, GA.

Survivors include: daughter: Tracy (Leveatt) Ruse of Charlotte, NC; sisters: Beverly Jo Davis of Douglas, GA and Connie Ada Newmans of Enigma, GA; brother: Paul Smith, Jr. of Douglas, GA; 3 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The graveside memorial service was held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Atkinson County.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
