Mrs. Margaret Rose Moore Boone, age 77, of Pearson, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday afternoon, July 23, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Boone was born August 27, 1939 to the late Elias Moore and the late Rhoda Fussell Moore. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Edward Boone and 1 Nephew, Spencer Cox.

Mrs. Boone, a native of Coffee County, was a graduate of Valdosta State University where she received both her Bachelors Degree and Masters of Education Degree. She taught third grade at Pearson Elementary for a few years.

She was employed by Moody Air Force Base through Civil Service where she had been a secretary at the base for 20 years. She had also worked as a Ware County Mail Carrier for several years. Mrs. Boone was a dedicated Member of Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church, near Ambrose.

Survivors include: her children: Kim Mullis of Axson, GA, Karen Boone of Chicago, IL
Greg Boone of Byron, Minnesota and Don Boone of Nicholls, GA; sisters: Beverly Cox of Atlanta, GA and Linda Tanner of Pearson, GA; grandchildren: Brandon Mullis and Janalyn Mullis both of Axson, GA, Derek Boone of Byron, Minnesota, Alex Boone of North Dakota and Eden Boone of Douglas, GA; great-grandchildren: Railyn Mullis and Riley Mullis, both of Axson, GA and Kallie Boone of Douglas, GA; nephews: Nick Cox of Dakar, Senegal, Africa, Kevin Fussell of Douglas, GA and Jodie Fussell of Pearson, GA; a special friend Shirley Kight.

The Graveside service and interment was held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Opening remarks and a closing prayer was given by Rev. Walt DeLoach.

Active pallbearers were: Brandon Mullis, Bryan Nugent, Brad Boone, Kevin Fussell, Jodie Fussell, Nick Cox and Alex Boone. A special hymn “Amazing Grace” was rendered a cappella by Glenda Lang.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
