Tommy Leon Cooper, Sr., age 72, of Broxton, Ga. passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Pruitt Health following an extended illness. Mr. Cooper was born on November 23, 1944, in Douglas, Ga. to the late James Milton Cooper and Myrtice Perry Cooper.

Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Cooper of Broxton, Ga.; daughter, Tammy (Brian) Phillips of West Green, Ga.; sons: Tommy Leon Cooper, Jr. of Broxton, Ga. and Mason (Shannon) Burkett of Fitzgerald, Ga.; sisters: Diane McCall of Macon, Ga. and Sharon (Waylon) Taft of West Green, Ga.; grandchildren: Cody (Whitney) Phillips of Broxton, Ga., Colby (Marissa) Phillips of Valdosta, Ga., Anna Burkett and Jacob Burkett; great-grandson, Cooper Phillips; aunt, Leonora Simmons of West Green, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Bounds and Rev. Herbert Box officiating. Interment followed at Harrell Family Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
