FNBCC is proud to announce the 2016-2017 First National Bank of Coffee County Junior Board of Directors (FNBCC JBOD) Member of the Year. Miss Jane Wills of Coffee High School was chosen for showing positive contributions to each meeting, overall dedication to the 2016-2017 board and attendance to meetings and events. She received a $1000 scholarship from FNBCC.

Being strong advocates of this community, these students represent the future of Coffee County through their display of integrity, quality, and commitment. From Citizens Christian Academy, members include Jenna Carver, Kade Moore, and Emily Purvis. From Coffee High School, members include: Diego Escobar- Chair, Ajayla Evins, Donna Harper, Dinali Patel, Jaymin Patel, Stephens Preston, Caitlin Thomason, Jane Wills- Secretary, Anna Varnadoe, and Ashley Varnadoe- Vice Chair. These 12 students represented the top of their class and were chosen by school officials through a rigorous application process.

The primary purpose of the FNBCC JBOD program is to educate leaders among high school seniors in banking and financial literacy, gaining experience in business meeting procedures and group leadership. It is intended to develop leaders that have a concern for the future of Douglas and Coffee County through a better awareness of prevalent local economics.

The FNBCC JBOD met on a monthly basis throughout the year and during this time worked on various projects, including a custom financial literacy presentation for their classmates, while learning essential business and leadership skills & knowledge.

Member of the Year, Jane Wills, will be attending The University of Georgia this fall in Athens, Ga. She is the daughter of local veterinarian Dr.Mike Wills & Ms. Jennifer Wills.

First National Bank of Coffee County is excited to see what the future holds for Jane and all the 2016-2017 FNBCC Junior Board of Directors. A special thanks to the family, schools, and staff of these students for allowing them the time to participate on the board. It’s an absolute pleasure for FNBCC to have the opportunity of meeting with and mentoring these extraordinary students.

Ready to begin a new year, the FNBCC JBOD has been a phenomenal success. FNBCC is excited to have the opportunity to foster youthful leaders within Douglas & Coffee County. The 2017-18 FNBCC JBOD applications were submitted and reviewed over the summer. Selections are complete and an announcement will be made soon regarding the upcoming board.
