The South Georgia BBQ & Outdoor Festival will be held in Douglas on Friday, September 8 and on Saturday, September 9, 2017. The Douglas BBQ Cook-Off is held in conjunction with the South Georgia BBQ & Outdoor Festival.

“We are thrilled, again, to partner with Georgia BBQ Association for the Douglas BBQ Cook-Off and are increasing our payout to $20,000 in cash and prizes,” says Georgia\ Henderson, Public Information Department Director. “Having a grand payout of $5,000 makes our cook-off the largest payout with GBA to date. Last year, we had over 30 professional teams competing and this year we are hoping to host even more!”

Teams wishing to participate in the Douglas BBQ Cook-Off competition, should ve a member of the Georgia BBQ Association. Teams who are not members, can easily register their team at www.bbqga.org. Registration is now underway with team entry beginning at $325 for a 20X20 cook space. The cook team meeting and Friday Night Welcome Dinner will be Friday, Sept. 8 beginning at 5pm. Standard GBA turn in times will be observed.

Payout for the Main Event categories will be $800 & Trophy for 1st place, $550 & trophy for 2nd place, $400 & trophy for 3rd place, $300 & medallion for 4th place, $250 & medallion for 5th place, $200 & certificate for 6th place, $150 & certificate for 7th and 8th place, $100 &  certificate for 9th and 10th place. The Reserve Champion will receive $2,500 & trophy and the Grand Champion will receive $5,000 & Trophy.

Applications are being accepted for general vendors and cook teams for this event. No food vendors are needed. For more information, call (912)383-0277 or visit.
