Mrs. Ingrid Sonnenberg McKinnon, age 79, of Douglas, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 30, 2017, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA following a short illness. Mrs. McKinnon was born in Germany on August 31, 1937 to the late Leonard Sonnenberg and the late Anna Emma Sonnenberg. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hanalora Blouth.

Mrs. McKinnon was a homemaker. She loved being with her family and friends. She was an active member of Trinity Non-Denominational Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Allen McKinnon of Douglas, GA; daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Lewis of Douglas, GA; brother, Hans (Renate) Sonnenberg of Germany; grandchildren: Ashley (Kane) Waldron and Ryan (Taylor) Lewis of Douglas, GA; great-grandchild, Kallen Waldron of Douglas, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held Saturday morning, September 2, 2017, at 11 A.M. at Trinity Non-Denominational Church with Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiated. The interment followed in Arna Cemetery in Atkinson County.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
