Pauline ‘Hawk’ Willis

Pauline Hawk Willis, age 79, of West Green, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Shady Acres Rehabilitation Center. Ms. Willis was born on August 8, 1938, in Morgan, Georgia to the late Katie Lou Davis Hawk and the late Colen Lee Hawk.

She wanted to be remembered as a person who wanted all things right, to be helpful to others, loved children and taught in public schools for 33 + years. She believed in God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Survivors include: son, John (Reba) Willis of Canton, GA; daughters: Mona (Randy) Moore of West Green, GA, and Jennifer (Kenji) Takeuchi of Atlanta, GA; sister, Sarah Hobbs of Waycross, GA; brothers: William Hawk of Albany, GA, and Joe Hawk of Perry, GA.; grandchildren : Hannah Willis, Logan Willis, Ansley Willis, Katelynn Moore, Levi Moore, Seiji Takeuchi, Kai Takeuchi, Emiko Takeuchi and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to First United Methodist Church, Douglas, GA., or Burkett Baptist Church, West Green, GA.

Visitation: Saturday, September 16, 2017, 10 a.m. to noon at Sims Funeral Home.

Will lie in state 1 to 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, Douglas, GA.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Lee and Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Music: performed by; Katelynn Moore and Tania Myers as pianist. Active Pallbearers: John Willis, Logan Willis, Randy Moore, Levi Moore, Kenji Takeuchi, Seiji Takeuchi, Kai Takeuchi and Jackson Hobbs. Honorary Pallbearers: Whitfield SS Class of First UMC and Sr. Adult SS Class of Burkett Baptist Church. Interment on Sunday at New Light Freewill Baptist Church, Morgan, GA.
