The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that April Doherty, a teacher at Indian Creek Elementary School, will be the keynote speaker at the Women in Business: Think Pink event that celebrates breast cancer survivors this year.  The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 at Central Square.

On Feb. 25, 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, cancer does not define her. April is a wonderful, caring individual who has faced this challenge head-on. She is married to Pat Doherty, who works with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. They just celebrated 16 years of marriage and have two beautiful kids, Keely, 11, and Finn, 10. She is in her 19th year of teaching.

April was saved at an early age and loves serving her savior Jesus Christ. She attends church at Grace Pointe where she is involved with different ministries. Come hear April share her story on Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Women in Business: Think Pink event at Central Square. Contact the Chamber at (912) 384-1873 for more information on how to be a sponsor or purchase tickets to the event.
