Geneva Solomon, age 83, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Columbus, GA. Mrs. Solomon was born January 8, 1934, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Johnny Carver and Bessie Mae Day Carver.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ferris Solomon.

Survivors include: daughter, Jennie and her husband Glenn Shelhorse of Cataula, GA.; son, Davey and his wife Joy Solomon of Hamilton, GA.; brother, Cecil and his wife Mary Lou Carver of Douglas, GA.; grandchildren: Jason and his wife Loni Solomon, Dayna and her husband Tony Newton and Lacey Manning; great-grandchildren: Austin Newton, Andrew Newton, Maggie Newton, Cooper Solomon and Cade Solomon.

Funeral Service were held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Reedy Branch Church Cemetery where Rev. Den Weniger officiated. Song selection: “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand.” Active Pallbearers were: Jason Solomon, Austin Newton, Andrew Newton, Tony Newton, Mark Gordon and Jerry Stancel. Interment followed at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mrs. Solomon’s home, on Saturday, September 30th, from 3 to 5 p.m. for friends and neighbors
