Mrs. Mary Evelyn King, age 90, of Douglas, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in Ocilla, Ga. Mrs. King was born on February 19, 1927, in Florida to the late Dennis Jowers and Mary Eva Carver Jowers.
She is survived by: her daughters: Linda and her husband Dwain Carter of Baxley, Ga.,Glenda Hall of Wadley, Ga., Connie Corbi of Douglas, Ga., Jonnie and her husband Ronald Goodman of Wray, Ga., Bonnie and her husband Chuck Heiken of Douglas, Ga.; sisters: Betty McKinnon of Willacoochee, Ga., Julia Hutchison.; brothers: Allen Jowers, Henry Jowers, Paul Jowers.; grandchildren: Kevin Carter, Kenny Carter, Kyle Carter, Kristen Lankford, Tracy Corbi, Lee Goodman, Jesse Goodman, Kate Calhoun, Brandon Hulsey, Mickey Corbi, Becky Heiken. Craig Bennett, Scott Bennett, Rusty Bennett; and a special friend, Pauline Smith.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Foy King; mother, Mary Eva Jowers; father, Dennis Jowers; son, Foy King; sister, Ethel Davis; brothers: Richard Jowers, Charles Jowers, Ira Jowers, Tom Jowers.
The funeral service was held on Saturday Nov. 11, 2017, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, in Douglas, Ga.
