Mrs. Mary Clifton Norman, age 83 of Waycross, GA, formerly of Douglas, passed away Friday afternoon, December 8, 2017, at Baptist Village in Waycross following an extended illness. Mrs. Norman was born November 28, 1934 to the late Ezekiel Clifton and the late Naomi Bryant Clifton.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Albert Norman; son, Anthony Allen Norman; and sisters: Hazel McClusky and Louise Herndon.

Mrs. Norman, a native of Pavo, Brooks County, GA, was a retired educator with the Coffee County School System. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: daughter, Sherry Moody and her husband Dean of Waycross, GA; son, John Clifton Norman and his wife Stacie of Willacoochee, GA; grandchildren: Mary Allison Moody of Waycross, GA., Micah Nathaniel Norman, Mikaela Faith Norman, and Rachel Elizabeth Norman all of Willacoochee, GA., Ciara Desiree Norman of Douglas, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 1 p.m.. at St. Mark United Methodist Church where Rev. Lee Ramsey and Rev. Chris Calhoun officiated. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
