Mr. Winston Kyle Purvis, age 62, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, Douglas, GA. Mr. Purvis was born on November 15, 1955, in Coffee County, GA to the late “Wink” and Waunelle Purvis.

Survivors include: his wife, Desiree Bird Purvis of Douglas, GA; daughters: Mrs. Paige and husband Jason DeGoursey of Douglas, GA and Mrs. Amy and husband Claude Holbrook of Adel, GA; grandchildren: Emily DeGoursey, Brooker DeGoursey, Asher Holbrook, and Briggs Holbrook; mother-in-law, Ms.Sandra Bird of Douglas, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ms. Michele Purvis; brother-in-law, Mr. Chuck and wife Charlotte Bird; several aunts, uncles, three nieces, one nephew, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kip Purvis.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating and Dr. Kathy Gentry Eulogy. Mrs. Marsha Gilliard as the pianist. The song selected for the service “The Storm Is Over” by CD. Active Pallbearers are: Dan Hatfield, Walter Daniel, Alfred Penn, Sage Barnwell, Chuck Bird, and Greg Childre.

Interment will follow at the Douglas City Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
