Mr. Frederick Noble Gartside, Jr., age 87, of Broxton, GA (formerly of Jacksonville, FL), passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Douglas, GA. Mr. Gartside was born on February 5, 1930, in York, PA, to the late Frederick Noble Gartside, Sr., and Miriam Elizabeth Krone Gartside. Mr. Gartside was a member of the First United Methodist church. He also served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a partner in the CPA firm of Hartman, Blitch and Gartside, in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is survived by: his wife, Judith Blitch Gartside of Broxton, GA; daughter, Hilary Patterson and husband Sam Patterson of Douglas, GA; son, Frederick Gartside, III and Wendy Lee of Wildwood, FL; grandchildren: Sara Echeverri, Josh Patterson and Chloe Patterson.

He was preceeded in death by: his father, Frederick Noble Gartside, Sr.; mother, Miriam Elizabeth Krone Gartside; daughter, Wendy Gartside Echeverri; and a brother, Stephen K. Gartside.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Douglas First United Methodist Church, Douglas, GA, with Rev. Doug Walker officiating.

Special music for the service will be by Brad Riner and Tania Myers. Burial will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
