Mrs. Johnnie Phillips Royal, age 89 of Ambrose, GA, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 23, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born December 15, 1928 to the late Monroe Phillips and the late Ava Harper Phillips. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Milton E. Royal; son, Terry Don Royal; grandson, Michael Brannen Jowers; brothers and sisters: D. B. Phillips, Luther Phillips, Quincy Phillips, Jesse Phillips, Mable Hood, Evie Phillips and Dewight Phillips; and half-brothers: Claude McCauley and Nead McCauley.

Mrs. Royal, a native of Coffee County was a homemaker. She had been a faithful member of Wray Holiness Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include: daughter, Jenny Royal Jowers of Ambrose, GA; son, Ronnie Royal and his wife Felicia of Fitzgerald, GA; grandchildren: Chad Royal and Amber Hughes and her husband Rob all of Fitzgerald, GA, Stormy Merritt and her husband Shawn and Jason Anderson all of
Douglas, GA, Grant Royal of Mora, GA, Kyle Croyle of Jerome, Michigan, Lauren Royal of Ambrose, GA; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Noon at Wray Holiness Baptist Church in Irwin County where Rev. Steve Willingham, Rev. Edsel Young and Sister Frances Paulk Smith officiated. The interment followed in Wray Cemetery.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
