Insurance plans can be confusing. Coverage can vary widely based on the insurance company, the specific plan type, the provider, as well as the type of care being administered. Your friends at Coffee Regional Medical Center know the importance of understanding your health insurance benefits and coverage, and want to share some information regarding Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) that we hope you find helpful.
We would like to remind you that CRMC is in-network and does accept commercial Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health insurance plans as offered by local employers such as the Coffee County Board of Education, Wal-Mart Distribution, Wal-Mart Store, and Pilgrim’s Pride. Most PPO, POS, HMO and individual BCBS plans are accepted and CRMC is in-network for those plans.
The only product line that CRMC is currently out of network with is the “Pathway X” plan. This is sold as a part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). A network name is identified on the bottom of the most recent health insurance card and identifies the provider network that supports the members’ health plan. If a member has questions about their plan level, they should contact their BCBS Representative or the BCBS website for further insight and advice.
Some BCBS Open Access POS plans require that its members utilize in-network, independent labs for routine lab testing. For a specific list of labwork that is covered by your plan at CRMC, please reach out to your BCBS Representative or your employer.
It is very important to note that CRMC will always provide Emergency Care which is typically covered by all insurance plans. It is the mission of Coffee Regional Medical Center to be the recognized center of health care excellence in South Georgia through the promotion of health and the delivery of health related services. We will continue to work as a community partner, providing quality, cost-effective, personal and progressive healthcare.
