Sudhakar Jonnalagadda, M.D. has been named president of the medical staff at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. Dr. Jonna’s duties in the position include monitoring the hospital’s clinical quality and medical staff issues. He will serve in this position for 1 year.
Dr. Jonna’s education is expansive. After he earned his medical degree at the Rangaraya Medical College, NTR University of Health Sciences in 1980, he was chosen for advanced post-graduate studies including hepatology (liver) fellowship at the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital for Liver Disease, a transplantation fellowship (liver) at the University of Pittsburgh, and a gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He also participated in a visiting fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at the University of Hamburg in Germany.
Dr. Jonna is board certified in gastroenterology. He specializes in gastrointestinal tract (GI), stomach, colon, pancreatic and gall bladder disease, and the entire spectrum of liver disease. He is experienced in pre and post liver transplantation. Dr. Jonna is also certified as a Diplomate in Gastroenterology. He successfully completed the requirements of The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in the subspecialty of Gastroenterology in addition to his board certification. As a Diplomate, Dr. Jonna is among the most effective and well-trained practitioners specializing in digestive diseases and disorders.
Dr. Jonna has a full-time practice, Coffee County Center for Digestive Diseases, in Douglas. He has been practicing medicine and a member of CRMC Medical staff since 1999.
