Robert (Bobby) George Barnes, age 78, passed away on Thursday February 22, 2018 in Cleveland, Georgia following an extended illness.
Mr. Barnes was born on March 10, 1939 the son of the late Cordie and Mamie Barnes. He worked as a Manager for N.G. Gilbert Tree Service and Streat Factory in Nicholls. Mr Barnes was of the Baptist Faith.
He was also preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Lou Barnes; daughter, Bobbie Loudena Barnes; brother, Avery Wibur Barnes; and a sister, Helen Barnes Germani. Survivors include: his daughters: Barbara Jane Barnes (Eddie) of Willachoocee, Tonie Lynn Nation (James) of Cleveland, GA and Pamela Ann Finley (Ray) of Demorest, GA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Velma Rigsby of Alma, Vickye Barnes Norris; and brother, John Thomas Barnes of Florida.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Van Streat giving the eulogy. Interment followed at Meeks Cemetery, Nicholls, GA.
Honorary pallbearers were: Jeffery Martin, Joseph Gee, Eddie Lott, James Nation, Eli Martin, Eddie Lott, Jr. and Donnie Hall.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
