On Monday, Feb. 26, the Mayor and Commission recognized several youth in the community who are outstanding in several different areas.
Mayor Pro Tem Kentaiwon Durham and the City Commission recognized Sedrick Williams for his hardwork and sacrifice while being great caregiver to his mother who has Lou Gehrigs disease. Mayor Paulk recognized D’Carius Clark for outstanding achievement. Mr. Clark graduated from South Georgia State College before he graduated from Coffee High School in 2017. While attending Coffee High School, he was a gifted, honor roll student and star athlete. South Georgia State College selected Mr. Clark as a model student and he was on the Dean’s list while being dual enrolled with CHS and SGSC. He graduated receiving scholarships from CCCUP, Young Men of Distinction, Sgt. Lil Mike Scholarship, Oscar & Eartha Street, and the Divas of Douglas. He is currently enrolled at Clark-Atlanta University and is on the Panthers football team. D’Carius plans to pursue a career as an anesthesiologist.
Mayor Paulk recognized Salah Harrell for her outstanding achievements. Ms. Harrell graduated in 2011 as a honor graduate. She has since graduated from Georgia Southern University, Magna Cum Laude. On May 12, 2018, she will receive her Juris Doctorate degree to become an attorney.
