Adams & Lott Full Circle Outdoors of Douglas participated in the 51st Claxton Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival in Claxton. The event, formerly known as the Claxton Rattlesnake Roundup, was first started in 1968 but in 2012 the name of the event was changed to the Claxton Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival, when the Evans County Wildlife Club teamed up with the Georgia DNR to focus more on wildlife conservation and education.

The festival is held annually with several conservation groups and educational organizations in attendance from all over the Southeast, including The Orianne Society, GA DNR, Southeastern Reptile Rescue, Chehaw Zoo, Central Florida Zoo, Eastern Diamondback Conservation Foundation, Georgia Southern Center for Wildlife Education, and many more. The Festival includes a beauty pageant, arts and crafts, food vendors, live entertainment, and much more, drawing over 15,000 tourist to the festival. This year there was an addition to the festival —  wildlife educators “Turtleman” Chris Adams and Tyler “Gatorboy” Lott of Adams & Lott Full Circle Outdoors, which is an educational outreach program started by Adams and Lott that focuses on wildlife conservation and education.

Adams stated, “We travel all over the state of Georgia educating others on the importance of native wildlife, teaching about anything from the species of flora and fauna and their habitats to the various types of ecosystems found in the Southeast.” Their goal is to help others better understand Georgia’s native wildlife, how to co-exist with it, and how they can help through conservation efforts. This was their first time being a part of the Claxton Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival. They conducted one educational program on Saturday and one on Sunday. They also had a booth setup for display.

Lott stated, “There were thousands in attendance throughout the weekend, and it was great to be a part of the event, and we were privileged to work alongside many of the top organizations in the field of wildlife conservation in the Southeast, that we look up to in our line of work. To see all of us working together towards the same goal, and educating others at the festival about wildlife conservation was sensational.” You can keep an eye out on their Facebook page and website to see when you can catch Adams and Lott in action at events coming up throughout the year.
