Miss. Tommie Vivian Stone, age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Vista Park (Shady Acres Nursing Home). Miss. Stone was born on September 21, 1930, in Douglas, GA to the late Edwin Stone and Minnie Courson Stone.

Her survivors include: daughter,Vickie and husband Bill Cannady of Douglas, GA; sisters: Frances and husband Grady Carver of Douglas, GA,and Helen Smith of Pacific Grove, CA; brother, Joel Stone of Dublin, GA; granddaughter, Dacia Cannady; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: brothers: George Stone and Jimmy Stone; sisters: Vonice Perry and Sue Ellen Stone.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church whre Rev. Shep Johnson officiated. Music furnished by Marsha Gilliard, Pianist with B.J. Holliday leading the congregation in “Amazing Grace”, “Because He Lives” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”.

Interment followed at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ashley Gillis, Logan Gillis, Grady Carver, Seth Ray, Gerald Ray and Stanley Williams.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
