JUNIOR 4-H CONFERENCE

This year’s Southeast District Junior 4-H Spring Conference will be held at Camp Jekyll the weekend of April 27-28. The theme is “4-H Survivor” and the weekend’s activities will include a fun time at the beach with friends from all over Southeast District! The schedule includes a cookout on Friday evening, an opening assembly, followed by a dance, recreation and s’mores. Saturday will include a couple of workshops, beach games, and a silent auction. This conference is open to 7th and 8th graders as well as 6th graders who competed in DPA this school year or attended summer camp last summer. The registration deadline is March 23 and the cost for the two day event is $80. Don’t miss out on this great weekend with your friends at Camp Jekyll!

SUMMER CAMPS

As we have been enjoying some early spring weather, it makes you start thinking about summer plans. If you have a child in 4th – 12th grade who might be interested in a week of fun and learning, don’t forget that 4-H Summer Camp is an option for them. Fourth through sixth graders will camp at Camp Jekyll the week of June 4-8. Seventh and eighth graders will camp at the Fortson 4-H Center near Hampton the week of June 25-29. Senior 4-H members will be camping at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center the week of July 2-6. Camp costs run around $370 to $380 depending on the camp. Sign up soon before all spaces are filled.

CLOVERLEAF SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Cloverleaf 4-H members, do you want to have fun with other 4‑H members during your summer break? If so, you need to sign up for the Cloverleaf Summer Activities. Registration fee and form are due by Monday, April 9. Balance is due by Tuesday, May 1. Activities include a trip to Splash in the Boro in Statesboro, a trip to The Clubhouse in Statesboro, and learning about locally grown fruit like blueberries and peaches and doing crafts and games. Sixth graders can also sign up to take the Certified Teen Leader Training along with 4-H members from Bacon County. A informational flyer is available on the web site at http://coffee4h.org under “4-H Forms and Web Links”. Don’t miss out on these fun events.

If you would like to learn how you can become more involved with the Coffee County 4-H program, please contact the Coffee County Extension office at (912) 384-1402 or visit our website at http://coffee4h.org.
