Mrs. Mildred Moore Elder, age 97, of Douglas,GA passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Elder was born on December 29, 1920 in Swainsboro, GA the daughter of the late Mitchell Moore and Mattie Flanders Moore. She was a retired clerk with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Herbert Elder Sr.; and son, Larry Martin Elder.

Survivors include: daughter, Deborah Elder Moffet of Douglas,GA; son, Charles “Chuck” Herbert Elder, Jr. of Douglas,GA; grandchildren: Jack Moffet, Brigitte Moffet DeLoach and husband Michael, Beatrice Gleaton Elder and Charles “Chad” Herbert Elder III; great grandchildren: Millie DeLoach, Tyler DeLoach, Ellie Elder, Madeline Elder, Quinn Moore, Isaiah Moore and London Moore.

Graveside services was held on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Douglas City Cemetery where Rev. Doug Walker and Rev. John McGowan officiated.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
