Elva Kight Spivey, age 89, passed away on Thursday March 29, 2018 at Vista Park following an extended illness.

Mrs. Spivey was born on September 9, 1928 in Douglas, GA the daughter to the late Ed Kight and Minnie Harper Kight. She was a sales clerk with Powell’s Drug Store for many years and was a member of Tanner Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, George Spivey; granddaughter, Jill Spivey; brothers: Bill Kight, E.J. Kight, George “Buck” Kight and Edmond Kight; and sisters: Jessie Mae Sweat and Cora Bell Wooten.

Survivors include: a daughter, Carnell Jackson of Nicholls, GA; sons: John Spivey and wife Jackie of Douglas, GA and Harvey Spivey of Nicholls, GA; sisters: Betty Starling of Eatonton, GA, Marie McKinley of Dublin, GA and Lurlyne Young of Fitzgerald, GA; five grandchildren.

Graveside services was held at 4 P.M. on Monday April 2, 2018 at Tanner Church Cemetery where Rev. Buddy Jordan officiated.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
