Mrs. Sara F. Marsh Bridges, age 74, of Douglas passed away Monday morning, April 2, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Bridges was born March 22, 1944, to the late William Marsh and the late Nannie Laura Newsome Marsh. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 46 years, Dock Charlie Bridges, Sr.; a son, Dock Charlie Bridges, Jr.; brother, Allen Marsh; sisters: Mae Terry, Elese Williams, Julia Alberson and Faye Hand.

Mrs. Bridges, a native of Mitchell, GA, had lived in the Douglas area for the past few years. She Graduated from Wrens High School, in Wrens, GA, where she played Basketball. After high school, She continued her education and became an L. P. N. She was an L. P. N. at Washington County Hospital in Sandersville, GA and at Oconee Nursing Home in Oconee, GA. She devoted her life to her family and her nursing career. She loved painting and she enjoyed Motorcycle rides with her husband.

Mrs. Bridges attended Kendall Heights Church of God in Sandersville, before moving to Douglas, where she had been attending West Ward Street Church of God.

Survivors include: children: Candi Lynn (Ken) Garner of Sandersville, GA, and her children, Joshua (McCall) Garner of Athens, GA, and Bradley (Brittany) Garner of Atlanta, GA. Nancy Laura (Christopher) Flanders of Douglas, GA, and her children, Rebecca Flanders of Douglas, GA and Charlie (Laura) Flanders of Douglas, GA., William Joseph (Joy) Bridges of Sandersville, GA, and his children, Hagen Bridges, Collin Bridges and Maddox Bridges, all of Sandersville, GA.; brothers: Jake (Ella) Marsh of Augusta, GA., and Phil (Rhonda) Marsh of Wrens, GA.; a special cousin, Evonne Murray of Augusta, GA.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside Service and Interment will be Friday, April 6, 2018, at 2 P.M., at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sandersville, GA, with Rev. Britt Peavy and Rev. Bobby Williford officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
