Barbara Elizabeth Jowers, age 79, passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at Regency Hospital, Macon, GA following a brief illness.

Mrs. Jowers was born in Duval County, FL the daughter to the late John Q. Jones, and Lillie Mae Roberson Jones. She worked as abus driver for the Coffee County School System for many years, was a homemaker and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Elton Jowers; and a son, John Tracey Jowers.

Survivors include: sons: Trevor Jowers and wife Ann of Ambrose, GA and Tommy Jowers of Ambrose; sisters: Vivian Ortega and husband Manny of Middleburg, FL and Bertha Lee Waite and husband Buck of Briceville, FL; brother, Raymond Jones and wife Delaine of Briceville, FL; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 14, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church where Rev. Carroll Carver officiated. Interment followed in New Hope Church Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
