Marcia Pace Lindstrom, the Great Niece of Mr. John Marshall Ashley, visited the Ashley Slater House (Douglas Visitor Information Center), on Friday, April 13, 2018 to see the home her Great Uncle built for his wife, Ada Clements Ashley. While visiting, the family also visited several other places of interests in Douglas including the Ashley mausoleum at the Douglas Cemetery and Heritage Station Museum.

Another historic place of interest the family visited is the Ashley-Manning-Pace Cemetery, which is located in Jeff Davis County. “We were thrilled to host the descendants of Mr. Ashley,” says Georgia Henderson, Community Development Director. “It is always nice to have the family visit and share stories of Mr. Ashley, Mrs. Ada Clements Ashley-Slater, or Mr. Slater.”
