Mr. James Gehu Stodghill, age 73 of Douglas, GA passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 5, 2018 at St. Josephs/Chandler Hospital in Savannah following a short illness. Mr. Stodghill was born March 6, 1945 to the late James Crowder Stodghill and the late Clyde Daniels Stodghill. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by: a step-son, Christopher Stevens; and a step-grandson, Alexander Stevens.

Mr. Stodghill had been a Pepsi Merchandiser for 15 years and he had also operated the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Douglas for a number of years.

Survivors include: his wife, Sherry Ann Stevens of Douglas, GA; sons: Lamar Stodghill and James Quincey Stodghill and his wife Heather both of Douglas, GA; step-children: Richard Stevens and his wife Jeana of Ambrose, GA., Michael Stevens of Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Layne Stodghill, Danni Stodghill, Eli Stodghill and Maddie Rae Stodghill all of Douglas, GA., Matthew Stodghill of Marietta, GA., Sonja Horton of Nicholls, GA; 7 step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. George Carroll Paulk and Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. The interment will follow in St. Illa Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 7, 2018 at 6 to 8 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
