STATE 4-H SHOTGUN MATCH HELD

The Coffee County 4-H Shotgun team traveled to Savannah for the weekend of May 26-27 to compete in the Georgia 4-H Trap, Skeet and Sport Clays Match. The match was held at the Forest City Gun Club. Coffee 4-H had a senior 4-H team and two individuals (grade 9-12) and two junior 4-H teams (7th & 8th graders) to compete. Teams can be composed of three to four members. Senior 4-H team members included Drew Purvis, Slade Smith and Avery Vincent on one team and Jake Fletcher and Michael Roberts who competed as individuals. The Junior 4-H Teams included Alex Dunn, J.P. Harper, and Hudson Lott on one team and Adron Fletcher, Jesse Hulett, and Jed Stone on the other. Senior shooters shoot 100 rounds in Trap, 100 rounds in Skeet, and 100 rounds in Sporting Clays. For junior shooters, it is only 75 rounds in each contest event.

Coaches for the teams include Richard Grantham, Jody Ridlehoover, and Clay Thomas. A special thank you goes out to our coaches for their dedicated service and to the shotgun team parents for their support of all of the team members competing. Congratulations shooters and coaches on your successes this year.
