Ronald Wade “Ronnie” Meeks, age 71, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Meeks was born on March 23, 1947, in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Wade LaGrande Meeks and Aline Juanita Spivey Meeks.

Mr. Meeks was owner/operator of Northside Automotive Co., a veteran of the United States Navy as a Seabees serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Carver Baptist Church, the men’s Sunday School class, served several years on the Douglas Municipal Airport Commission. Mr. Meeks also served several years as an auxiliary policeman for the City of Douglas, was a member of Coffee County Jaycees serving as treasurer and was a member of the Coffee County Fishing Club.

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Beverly Ann Meeks of Douglas, GA; daughters: April Meeks Maness of Apex, NC and Brooke Nicole Meeks of Douglas, GA; brothers: Larry Delaine Meeks of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Charles Michael Meeks of Martinez, GA; sisters: Phyllis Marie Meeks of Duluth, GA., Kay Latrelle Meeks of Atlanta, GA and Glenda Faye Jowers of Martinez, GA; grandson, Wade McLeod Maness of Apex, NC.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Carver Baptist Church where Rev. Philip Corbean officiated with Dwayne Gillis giving a eulogy and April Meeks Maness giving the family remarks. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
