Joe Glen Solomon, 82, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Solomon was born on April 12, 1936 in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Morgan Solomon and Amanda Taylor Solomon.

He was a retired Superintendent with the City of Douglas Lighting Department and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Mr. Solomon was preceded in death by: daughter, Lisa Kay Solomon; and brother, Eugene Solomon.

Survivors include; his wife, Martha Adell Smith Solomon; sons: Jeffery Solomon and wife Jan of Athens, GA and Jason Solomon of Douglas, GA; stepdaughters: Toni Taylor of Douglas, GA and Terry Odom and husband Johnny of Waynesboro, GA; brothers: James Solomon of Douglas, GA and Aldeen Solomon of Fitzgerald, GA; sister, Ruby Taylor of Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Nathan Taylor, Taylor Solomon, Natalie Crews, Morgan Solomon, Tanner Solomon, Hunter Odom, Drew Solomon, Baylie Odom, Jo Walker Solomon and Lizzie Bea Solomon; and great grandchildren: Ayden Taylor and Brinley Taylor.

Funerals services were held on Sunday July 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel where Rev. Leroy Spivey and Jeffery Solomon gave the eulogy. Interment followed at Franklin Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
