Ada Ludell Davis, age 78, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born on February 9, 1940, in Pearson, Georgia the daughter to the late Clayton Calvin Bowen and Lola Spivey Bowen.
She worked as a waitress and attended Southview Church of God.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by: son, James C. Horton; daughter, Sherry Mae Horton; brother, W.J. Bowen; and step-son, John David Davis.
Survivors include: her husband, Lynnwood Davis of Douglas, GA; daughter, Anita Corbitt and husband Ricky of West Green, GA; sons: John Horton and wife Brenda of Nicholls, GA and Franklin Horton and wife Ann of Douglas, GA; brother, Calvin Bowen and wife Lataire of Nicholls, GA; sisters: Carlene Gillespie of Callahan, FL and Irma Grace Whitley of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren: Greg Lott James Allen Corbitt and Richard Corbitt all of West Green, GA, Mark Horton, Alex Horton and Kendra Carter Taylor all of Nicholls, GA; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Edward Davis
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church where Rev. Gene Chaney officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
