Dorothy Spivey, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Select Speciality Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Spivey was born on September 3, 1943, in Tifton, Georgia the daughter to the late Truitt Edward Fowler and Mary Agnes Parrish Fowler.

She was a certified CNA with Nightingale Services Inc. and attended Anchor Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Spivey was also preceded in death by her husband, John Spivey and a grandson, Stephen Goodman.

Survivors include: daughters: Marie Abad and husband Jody of Tifton, GA, Krystal Vining of Douglas, GA and Delane Fowler of Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Kimberly Goodman, Melanie Beeman, Clayton Yawn, Jarod Beeman and Ethan Yawn; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Goodman, Harli Goodman, Jasper Hutto and Ana Noel; sister, Ann Fowler Smith of Tifton, GA; brothers: Hollis Fowler and Arlon Fendley; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel where Pastor Fred Evers and Pastor Scott Smith officiated. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
