Mr. Jerry Dennis Wright, age 67 of Douglas, passed away Thursday night, July 19, 2018, at Select Medical Hospital in Savannah, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Wright was born February 19, 1951, to the late John Wright and the late Laverne Spivey Wright Mercer Smith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by: his step-fathers: Dave Mercer, Aldine Smith; and Step-Brother, Carl Mercer.
Mr. Wright, a native of Coffee County, retired as a Manager with Fleetwood Mobile Homes, after 39 years of service. He had held many job titles in the southern region with Fleetwood Industries.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Banks Wright of Douglas, GA; son, Jonathan Wright and his wife Shanlee of Douglas, GA; daughter, Amie Wright Fussell and her husband Dr. Chad Fussell of Douglas, GA; step-brother, Pete Mercer of St. Mary’s, GA; step-sisters: Bessie Spivey, Anita Douglas and Bonnie Holton all of Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Cheyenne Doyle and her husband Brandon of Pearson, GA., Kenlee Wright, Sydnie Fussell and Ben Fussell all of Douglas, GA; great-grandchild, Ariella Doyle of Pearson, GA; special niece, Katie Merritt Butts and her husband Josh and their daughter Lily Klaire Butts of Douglas, GA.; a number of extended family members and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held, Sunday, July 22, 2018, at 2 P.M. at College Avenue Baptist Church where Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev. Gregory Pope officiated and Jonathan Wright presented a eulogy. The interment followed at Tanner Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were: Grant Merritt, Erik Merritt, Clay Spivey, Cole Harper, Brandon Doyle and Josh Butts.
Special Musical Selections, “Jesus and John Wayne” was presented by CD Taped Music, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and “Amazing Grace” were presented by the Sweetwater Creek Singers. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Carla Rish.
Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
