Rev. Joseph “J. L.” Lewis Sellers, age 88 of Broxton, GA, passed away late Wednesday night at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA following a short illness. Rev. Sellers was born November 5, 1929, to the late Joseph Lewis Sellers, Sr. and the late Nora Salter Sellers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Leila G. Sellers; brothers: Ernest Sellers, Daniel Sellers and Bobby Sellers; and sisters: Novella Spivey, Ethelene Walker and Nettie Ponder. 

Rev. Sellers, a native of Wilcox County, had been the caretaker of Calvary Holiness Campground for the past 18 years. He was a retired minister in the Calvary Holiness Church and he had also been employed in prior years with Fleetwood Mobile Homes and J. P. Stevens and Company. Rev. Sellers was a member of New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church.

Survivors include: children: Mary Elizabeth Soles and her husband Stanford of Hahira, GA., Janie Annette Crowe and her husband Larry of Sumner, GA., James Newton Sellers and his wife Sandra, Samuel Dewayne Sellers and his wife Kathy, Stephen Paul Sellers and his wife, Tammy all of Wray, GA., Lewis Donnell Sellers and his wife Lisa of Lenox, GA., Connie Bowen of Cordele, GA.; grandchildren: Ferrell and Lyndi Soles of Hahira, GA; Brent and Amy Crowe of 
Sylvester, GA; Amanda and Cody Carter and Haley and Mitch Lewis all of Douglas, GA., Ryan and Kaitlyn Sellers, Lauren and Wesley Yawn, Kayla Sellers and Lilah Grace Sellers all of Wray, GA., Cody and Rebecca Sellers of Broxton, GA., Andrew Bowen, Nathan Bowen, and Phillip Bowen of Pinehurst, GA.; great Grandchildren: Grant and Baker Soles both of Hahira, GA., Bethany and Abigail Crowe both of Sylvester, GA., Lana Kate, Laylee and Laikynn Sellers all of Broxton, GA., Mia Claire Lewis of Douglas, GA., Weston and McKinley Yawn and Addison Leila Sellers all of  Wray, GA.; sister, Lavada Spivey of Doerun, GA.; special nephew, David Werntz and his wife Mary of Douglas, GA.; many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends

The funeral service was held, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 2 P.M. at Calvary Holiness Campground Tabernacle where Rev. Jody Silvers and Rev. Vernon Hughes officiated. The interment followed in New Corinth Cemetery.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
