Mrs. Betty Minix Russell Frier, age 77 of Douglas, passed away Sunday morning, August 26, 2018, at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. Frier, a native of Coffee County, was born December 19, 1940 to the late Emmitt Minix and the late Mattie Mae Stevens Minix.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by: husbands: Truman Russell and Thomas Frier, Jr.; brothers: Rev. Gene Minix and Curtis Minix; sisters: Sarah Nell Cumbass and Delores Waldron.

Betty had been an active member of Assembly of God Church in Douglas for 58 Years, where she taught Sunday School for many of those years. She had been a beloved Para Pro at Westside Elementary School for many years. 

Survivors include: son, Truman LaVan Russell of Douglas, GA.; daughter, Cindy Russell Wright of Douglas, GA.; grandchildren: Rebecca Leanne and Kevin Calel, Rachel Michele and Jason Betsill, Dusty Wright and Joey Wright all of Douglas, GA.; great grandchildren: Jax Wright, McKenzie McMillian and Madelyn McMIllian all of Douglas, GA.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held Wednesday morning on August 29, 2018, at 11 A.M. at First Assembly of God where Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. John Williams officiated. The interment followed in Douglas City Cemetery.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
