Ms. Maria Isabel Cruz Alvarez, age 51, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Memorial Hospital. Alvarez was born on July 31, 1967, in Michoacan, Mexico to Celia Alvarez and the late Dionicio Cruz.
Ms. Alvarez loved being a mother, it was her greatest pride in the world. She loved spending time with her friends and was very loyal. She very much loved nature and was always willing to give.
Survivors include: mother, Celia Alvarez; daughter, Ernestina (Jonathan) Moya of Chula Vista, CA.; sisters: Maria Cruz of Mexico, Alanacia Cruz of Mexico, Gloria Alvarez of Mexico, and Guadalupe Cruz of Mexico; brothers: Pablo Cruz of Mexico, Juan Cruz of Mexico, Silvano Cruz of Mexico; grandchild, Julian Moya Jaurrieta; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her father, Dionicio Cruz.
Funeral Mass was held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Noon at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church where Father Paul O’Connell officiated.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
