Mr. Ronald Coleman Bennett, age 70 of Nicholls, GA passed away Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA following a brief illness. Mr. Bennett was born November 28, 1947 to the late Lawson Coleman Bennett, Sr. and the late Dorean Taylor Bennett.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by: sisters: Martha Sue Bennett and Lucille Bennett;  brothers: Herman Bennett and Jimmy Bennett; and a grandson, Jonathan “JoJo” Anderson.

Mr. Bennett was a carpenter by trade. He was a veteran of the US Army where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty Lou Carter Bennett of Nicholls, GA.; daughters: Alene Hanning and her husband Chris of Fayetteville, NC., Winnette Hutchison and her friend Roger Wamsley of Nicholls, GA., Michelle Meeks and her husband Jimmy of Douglas, GA.; son, Timmy Hutchison and his wife Sandy of Nicholls, GA.; sister, Linda Newham of Fitzgerald, GA.; brothers: Coleman Bennett of Texas, Frank Bennett of Florida, Kenneth Bennett and
Donald Bennett both of Brunswick, GA and Horace Bennett of Pearson, GA.; grandchildren: Cody Meeks, Trevor Meeks, Amber Adams, Raven Hanning, Amanda Hutchison, Matthew Anderson and Shasta Taft; 6 great grandchildren.

The memorial service was held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Noon at Unity Church where Rev. Joseph Cochran officiated. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
