Delorice Day Wooten, age 89, passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Alma. Mrs. Wooten was born on July 9, 1929 in Broxton, the daughter to the late George Henderson Day and Annie Mae Jackson Day.

 

Mrs. Wooten was the former owner of Delorice’s Florist and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Wooten; son, Gerald Wooten, great-granddaughter, Sheyanna West and siblings, Edward Day, Adrian Day, Aubrey Day, Leroy Day, Willene Graham and JoAnn Renew.

 

Survivors include four daughters, Dr. Martha Wooten Solomon and husband Gerald of Cookeville, Tenn., Lynda Mobley and husband Cliff of Broxton, Gwendolyn Deen and husband Craig of Broxton, and Delora Music and husband Denny of Alma; brother, James Day and wife Mary Lou of Douglas; sister, Betty Smith of Douglas; 11 grandchildren, Barry Solomon (Cindy), Michelle Hehnert (Matt), Randy Wooten, Kimberly Snell (Terry), Andy Stapleton (April), Shannon Harden (John), Dudley Mobley (Cindy), Wendy Bracewell (Irvin), Tracey Deen (Kelly), Brent Deen (Kimberly); 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Funeral services were held on Friday September 21, 2018 at 2 pm at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Van McCall officiating and Randy Wooten giving the eulogy. Interment followed at Broxton City Cemetery.
