Mrs. Linda Myers Meeler, age 70 of Columbus, formerly of Douglas, passed away early Saturday morning, September 22, 2018 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus following a short illness. She was born October 30, 1947 to the late Southern Edward Myers and the late Minerva Johns Myers. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laken Meeler Taylor, and brothers Vernon Myers, Lloyd Myers and Marvin Myers.

Survivors include: three children: Lisa Summerlin of Columbus, Fred Randall “Randy” Meeler of Douglas, and Tonya Boatright of Alma; grandchildren Amari Perez and her husband Jeshua and Autumn Summerlin; both of Columbus, Garrett Meeler and Zachery Meeler, both of McRae, and Cody Knight and Cole Knight, both of Douglas; step-grandchildren Caroline Boatright of Alma and Samuel Boatright of Kennesaw; great-grandchildren Bentley Taylor of Douglas, Cason Taylor and Ronin Perez, both of Columbus, and Austin Brooks Whitaker of Alma; siblings Mildred Pelletier of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Ellen West of Waycross, Lonnie Myers of Ambrose, Jean Lewis and Geneva Lott, both of Douglas, Jeanette Thrift of Hilliard, Fla., Robert Myers of Tifton, and Carl Myers of Jacksonville, Ga.; a large extended family and a host of friends.

 

The funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. John Carver officiating. The interment will follow in the family plot at Rocky Pond Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
