Rebecca Paulk, age 92, of Wray, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Paulk was born on January 17, 1926 in Coffee County, the daughter of the late Dave Harper and Drucilla Merritt Harper.

 

Mrs. Paulk was a homemaker and a member of Wray Holiness Baptist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Paulk, 10 sisters and one brother.

 

Survivors include son, Melvin Paulk of Sylvester; daughter, Martha Jean McKinnon (Loel) of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Myron Paulk of Athens, Merlin Paulk of Valdosta, and Carol Pruitt and Raye Fowler, both of Calhoun; eight great grandchildren, Dean Evans, Emma Evans and Nate Fowler of Calhoun, Drew Rowell and Will Rowell of Mobile, Ala., Kynslie Paulk and Cohen Paulk of Valdosta, and Braden Paulk of Athens.

 

Funeral services were held on Friday September 28, 2018 at 4 pm at Wray Holiness Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Willingham officiating, Melvin Paulk giving the eulogy and Rev. Kenneth Matthews at the graveside. Interment followed at Wray Holiness Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Paulk, Myron Paulk, Shawn Fowler, Nate Fowler, Dean Evans, and Tom Caves.

 

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
