The week of Oct. 1-5 was Georgia Pre-K Week.  During the week, many leaders from the community, parents, grandparents, Mrs. Tamara Morgam (principal), Mrs. Amy Vining (Assistant Principal), teachers from other grade levels, City of Douglas Director, Doyle Wooten (Sheriff) and personnel from the Board of Education visited Indian Creek Pre-K classrooms. They read to the Pre-K students in the Pre-K classrooms of Mrs. Jan Milhollin and Mrs. Susan Wilcox; Ms. Emily Eastin and Mrs. Stella Graham; and Mrs Danae Mullis and Mrs. Gwen Moore.

The Pre-K students enjoyed all of the readers who came to read for this special occasion.  Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week and to make this an awesome week in Pre-K. On Friday, Oct. 5, students ended the week long celebration with a Pre-K parade; students used their imaginations and dressed up with lots of fun clothes and accessories donated by families.

Georgia Pre-K Week allows the community to experience firsthand the quality learning that takes place in classrooms across Coffee County.  Numerous extensive studies show that quality pre-kindergarten programs result in greater school success and an improved workforce.
