Mr. Lonnie Shelton Shrouder, age 83, of Ambrose, passed away early Sunday morning, October 21, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1935 to the late J. J. Shrouder and the late Donnie Whiddon Shrouder. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Herbert Shrouder, Loran Shrouder, Sr., Jimmy Shrouder, Cecil Shrouder, Ed Shrouder, E. J. Shrowder, Junior Shrouder, Pud Shrouder, Myrtle Bennett, and Lucille Teston.

Mr. Shrouder, a native of Broxton, was a prominent farmer in the Ambrose community. He had enjoyed raising livestock and different farm animals. He was a family man, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Mr. Shrouder was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Buchan Shrouder of Ambrose; children Alicia Rucker and her husband Clyde and Jerrell Shrouder and his wife Ann, all of Ambrose; grandchildren Mandy Harper, Brandilyn Smith, Tiffani Rucker, Kadie Rucker and Stacy Batten and her husband Tracy, all of Ambrose; eight great grandchildren; sister Donna Williams and her husband T.J. of Hazlehurst; sister-in-law Betty Buchan of Douglas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside services and interment were held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Carver officiating. Tiffani Rucker, Brandilyn Smith, and Mandy Harper gave a special eulogy.

Active pallbearers were Bryce Kirkland, Gavin Harper, Landon Smith, Keegan Harper, Evan Harper, Rex Harper, and Chris Smith.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
