Mr. Clyde B. Vickers, age 86 of Johnson City, Tenn., passed away late Monday evening, October 29, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Johnson City, following an extended illness. Mr. Vickers was born November 14, 1931 to the late Carlie Edward Vickers and the late Thelma Lucrecia Moore Vickers. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Grace Floyd Vickers.

Mr. Vickers, a native of Mora in Coffee County, retired from Hobart Company as a food vending machinist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air National Guard. He was a faithful member for 56 years of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many capacities in his church, including serving as a Boy Scout master where he and his club earned many merit badges and honors. He was an avid fisherman and he was also a pilot; he enjoyed flying by himself and with his family.

Survivors include: Daughters and their spouses: Patsy and Alan Blackner of Layton, Utah, Dena and Bob Cotti of Ft. Defiance, Va., and Lorie and John Crump of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandsons and their spouses, Christopher and Joy Blackner, Jeremy Blackner, Jacob and Trisha Blackner, and Daniel and Alexis Blackner, all of Utah, Richard and Brittni Cotti of Verona, Va., Michael Cotti of Atlanta, Andrew and Kerri Cotti of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Cole Buschle of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter Katie Crump of Johnson City, Tenn.; five great grandsons and three great granddaughters

The funeral service was held Saturday morning, November 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Brother Bob Cotti conducting the service. Eulogies were given by his daughters, Dena Cotti and Patsy Blackner. The interment followed in Mora Baptist Church Cemetery, with Richard Cotti dedicating the burial site. 

Active pallbearers were: Christopher Blackner, Andrew Cotti, Cole Buschle, Michael Cotti, Richard Cotti, and Carlie Vickers.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
