Coffee Regional earns ‘A’ rating from Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade system

Coffee Regional Medical Center has recently earned an A rating according to the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, works to bring transparency to the public, bringing information forward on hospitals safety and quality management scores to help consumers make informed decisions about where they receive their care.        

 

When making health care decisions, patients should use all available tools at their disposal such as talking with friends and family and consulting with doctors, nurses and other health care providers. The latest Leapfrog rating system is just one tool, among many, patients can use when making health care decisions such as choosing a hospital. The Leapfrog grade is one of these important tools.

 

Looking at 28 performance measures, a single letter grade is produced representing a hospitals’ overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. Leapfrog assesses over 2,600 general acute-care hospitals across the nation. Coffee Regional has chosen to participate in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade as a way to be more transparent to patients and learn ways to improve quality of care.

 

The latest Leapfrog report highlights Coffee Regional’s commitment to improving patient quality and safety. Georgia hospitals continue to enhance their patient safety efforts, with 35 percent receiving an A grade and meeting the highest safety standards. Coffee Regional is consistently working on the improvement of patient satisfaction and quality management.  The CRMC health care team has multi-level processes in place that track all aspects of patient care, ensuring that quality improvement and accident prevention are at the forefront of care on a daily basis.
